◦ web-based Java EE development (required), using the following frameworks:
▪ Struts
▪ Spring
▪ Hibernate/JPA
◦ deployment on a Tomcat / Apache HTTP server / Linux stack
(strongly recommended)
◦ HTML and CSS (strongly recommended)
◦ jQuery and jQuery UI as well as general JavaScript and JSON
(strongly recommended as it is used heavily for the UI)
◦ PostgreSQL (recommended - it's helpful, even though most of the database access is abstracted by Hibernate there are some pitfalls to avoid)
◦ using Eclipse as IDE (recommended, it would be possible to switch to something else, e.g. Netbeans, but it is easier to stick with Eclipse as development environment)
◦ Maven-based build processes (would be a plus, but so far only a fraction of Maven's capabilities is actually used)
• Ability and willingness to learn
• Knowledge of the English language as most up-to-date documentation is only available in English online
